The ZOOK™ Tether — Saddle Hunting Gear
The ZOOK™ Tether is a safety rope that works well with climbers, and with saddle hunting.
“Good quality tree tether. I use this for saddle hunting and holds up great!“
-Tristan | March 2021
The ZOOK™ Tether is a great choice for temporary and mobile hunting setups. Our tether is close to 8 feet long from end-to-end and works well with almost any size tree. Our Tether 2.0 has a 4.5″ Sewn eye loop. 11mm main line.
“Top quality Tree Tether and the one to buy because it’s made in the USA!! Functions much quicker and better than the other models that use thick belts.“
-Dennis | June 2021
Some people use a tether for hang-on stands, but we recommend using our ZOOK™ Line safety lifeline for permanent and semi-permanent stands.
“I wish I had this years ago already. It is easy to use and the adjustability makes tree climbing super safe.“
-Michael | July 2021
Instructions
Instructions for Use | ZOOK™ Tether (3:40)
For Hang On Tree Stands and Ladder Stands:
- While standing in your tree stand, attach the ZOOK™ Tether above your head by wrapping the rope around the tree and passing the end of the rope and the prusik cord through the looped end to form a choker hitch around the tree.
- Cinch the choker hitch to tighten it so that the rope around the tree is horizontal.
- Once tight, pull down sharply to be certain the ZOOK™ Tether is gripping the tree properly.
- Attach the carabiner to the lanyard of your harness and to the prusik cord.
- Push the prusik up the rope until it is a few inches below the choker hitch.
- Test the function of the prusik by sharply pulling down on it to be sure it locks up.
- Make sure that there is just enough slack in your lanyard so you can comfortably sit down.
For Climber Tree Stands:
- While standing in your climber at the base of the tree, attach the ZOOK™ Tether above your head by wrapping the rope around the tree and passing the end of the rope and the prusik cord through the looped end to form a choker hitch around the tree
- Begin climbing, stopping after every step to raise the ZOOK™ Tether as high as you can reach, repeating steps 2-7.
- Once in your final position, raise the ZOOK™ Tether once more so that there is just enough slack in your lanyard so you can comfortably sit down.
For Saddle Hunting:
- Once you reach your desired elevation using your method of climbing with your saddle, attach the ZOOK™ Tether above your head by wrapping the rope around the tree and passing the end of the rope and the prusik cord through the looped end to form a choker hitch around the tree
- Cinch the choker hitch to tighten it so that the rope around the tree is horizontal.
